Grantaire, one of my favourite characters from Les Mis. I really like it how he understands that the Revolution he and his friends are fighting won't change anything and yet he goes to battle all the same

If my memory serves me well I believe in the book Grantaire was a bit older but I'm not sure. Anyway, this is George Blagden from the new Les Mis movie, I think he might look younger here because I painted him based on a picture that's not from the movie.

For the BG I used a pic from the on stage version of the show as reference.

Stunning piece,really powerful. At first I thought it was a photo. And I like the idea that on the where we can see Enjolras. In the book, when it was first written about Grantaire and discribed his nature, I was so amazed about that young man. Cynical, but yet with a great faith. Faith, but not in changes or a better life. But in Enjolras.
